Jungle Night Tours: Everything you need to know

A beautiful & majestic jungle brimming with life is begging to be explored at a moments notice. As the sun falls, this same jungle becomes shy and new animals come out to be discovered. Studies have shown that the vast majority of animals belonging to most groups are active mostly or exclusively at night.

Once the sun has set in the tropical humid forest, the hiking through private trails at Guacimo Lodge primary forest begins. The forest will be filled with sounds of insects, frogs and toads. You may spot nocturnal birds, tree frogs, snakes and spiders. Other nocturnal mammals such as anteaters, deer, ocelots, sloths or armadillos are typical of the area and active at night.

Jungle Sounds

There is an entirely new symphony to be heard in a tropical rainforest at night. Turn off your flashlights for a moment and listen for sounds that can only be heard at this time.

Our local bilingual guides will be present to inform, educate, and inspire all who partake in the jungle night tour. The best spots for certain animals and sounds will be explained and traversed.

Jungle Night Tour Essentials

It is important that certain items are brought to make sure your experience can go swimmingly. Your guide will provide you with water boots and flashlights. A rain coat and comfortable light clothing will also be very handy. Designed spots to observe nocturnal life are set along the way.

Don’t miss this tour through the primary forest. Experience can be upwards of 3 hours. This is sure one of the most exciting tours during your trip to Rio San Juan and Indio Maiz Biological Reserve!
