Guacimo Ecolodge extended tropical forest hike

A great way to learn on the diverse fauna and flora of Nicaragua lowland tropical humid forest is to experience a good hike through the primary forest of Indio Maiz reserve buffer zone. The location of Guacimo Ecolodge, in the Department of San Juan river, South East of Nicaragua, just by Indio Maiz reserve is an ideal spot for this.

Extended tropical forest hike – Ceiba trail

Guacimo Ecolodge provides now an extended, special 4hrs to 5hrs hike to deepen your experience inside the forest. This extended tour is called “Ceiba trail” in honor to a centenary ceiba tree located at the end of the trail, enclosed in between two small branches of La Perilla tropical water creek.

Get into the hands of our local expert guides and embrace this amazing walk, where you will pass through primary and secondary forest, walk past giant Almendro and Cedro trees, encounter white-faced capuccin or spider monkeys as you advance, and enjoy a small snack at destination.
